How big is it?
60cm x 40cm, which is exactly double the size of our Waffle Cleaning Cloth. It is a little more compact than a traditional cotton tea towel, and that is deliberate. This fabric holds far more water for its size, so you get the same job done with less bulk on the rail and far less to wring out. If you are used to a large cotton towel, this will feel neat in the hand rather than small in use.
Will it leave fluff on my glasses?
No. The waffle weave lifts moisture cleanly off the surface instead of smearing it. Use the printed side damp, then finish with the plain dry reverse, and glassware and cutlery come out clear with no fluff left behind.
Why is one side printed and one side plain?
The two sides do different jobs. The printed side is for the wiping and the drying. The plain reverse, in the matching colour, is for the finish on glassware, mirrors and anything you want left without a streak.
How is this different to the Waffle Cleaning Cloth?
Same fabric, different job. The cleaning cloth is 40cm x 30cm and made for wiping down surfaces and tackling mess. The tea towel is double that size, with the surface area you need for drying dishes, glassware and hands. Most people end up with both, one at the sink and one on the rail.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold or warm. Avoid fabric softener, as it coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Air dry or tumble dry low. The waffle weave holds its texture and absorbency wash after wash.
Will the print fade?
With proper care, no fabric softener and low heat drying, the print stays vibrant through repeated washing. The design is built into the fabric, not printed on top of it.
Can I use it to take a hot tray out of the oven?
Please do not. This is a drying and wiping towel, not an oven mitt, and it is not made for high heat. Use a proper mitt for anything hot.
